A Wizard Eyes You Strangely

So I stayed up awfully late last night and made a blogger for Temple of Elemental Pixels because Tumblr hates javascript. But look! I made a Wizard Generator!

Click HERE to generate a wizard. They are sure to eye you strangely. Check out Last Gasp Grimoire for more generators, or to make your own!

  1. Tumblr hates life.

This is glorious. My only complaint is the use of "they" instead of he/she/it. Could you make "they" a random field as well, and replace it with a randomly generated "he/she/it"? Or, just replace with "it"?

  2. I can certainly see using 'it', though I find it a rougher thing to read than 'they'. I shied away from he/she here intentionally, since I figure a wizard can be any gender the wizard wants to be. Gender is a social construct, and what care wizards for the social constructs of lowly mortals? Unfortunately the gender neutral 'they' really does bug some people.

  3. It's not that "they" is gender neutral...it's that it's a plural pretending to be a singular and therefore grammatically incorrect on the face of it, sir!

On a completely different note it is awesome that this thing has received 57 plusses on G+!

  4. No, you've just confused the plural "they" with its homonym, the singular "they"! 19th century grammarians prescribed the gender-neutral 'he', don't let those losers win!

I wish there was better feedback on likes and shares of shares from G+! I want to know who these 57 people are, dammit!

  5. Shakespeare and Chaucer both used the singular 'they'. I accept their authority over that of any random modern grammarian.
